Come out to the Gravity Discovery Centre this School Holidays (30th June to the 15th of July 2018) to be part of our exciting holiday program. Each day has a different activity!
Mondays & Fridays – Rocket Making
Our rocket making workshop is ideal for children aged 6-12 years. It gives them an introduction into age appropriate rocket science.
They will start out the session by learning how to make straw rockets that they can launch by blowing on them. They will then advance to making rockets out of 1.25L bottles. Once the bottle rockets have been created, everyone will move outside where they will get to test how their rocket flies, by launching it from our AquaPod rocket launchers!
Please bring along an empty 1.25L bottle for this activity.
Tuesdays – Exploring Space
This will include solar viewing, a cloud chamber experiment, interactive lessons, and fun activities based around the requirements to become an astronaut!
Wednesdays – Exploring Nature
This program will take everyone on a guided treasure hunt through the unique bush land surrounding the GDC, show you what tiny things look like up close by using a microscope (like fly legs and bee wings), help you plant your own native Australian flower in a pot (that you can take home and grow) plus more!
Thursdays – Rocket Science for Teens
During the program, there will be a demonstration of launching a chemical rocket.
Fridays – Bubble Science
